So, as an organization you have embarked on the journey to S/4HANA and to top it up, you have embarked on the implementation of embedded EWM on S/4HANA.
The build of the project has started and everything seems to go smoothly, until one day in an emergency meeting you are informed that you bought licence for basic EWM but some of the processes you implemented are based on advanced EWM licence, which is not part of your contract with SAP. As a a C-Suite official, it is a position, you wouldn't want to be.
However, this is a situation, we have found many of the customers in, because of the lack of an understanding of the features as part of basic vs advanced EWM in S/4HANA as well as tracking which feature your System Integrator (SI) is implementing.
To help the customers out, SAP has given configuration to flag the type of functionality used by customers in their EWM landscape.
Your SI can flag this configuration at the SAP IMG menu path: SCM Extended Warehouse Management -> Extended Warehouse Management -> Master Data -> Acknowledge Use of Advanced Functions. You can flag usage of basic vs advanced licence against your warehouse, as shown in Fig below:

It is also imperative that you check if you're following the licence obligations of EWM functionalities ( basic vs advanced ) you have purchased, either regularly or on adhoc-basis. You can do so by executing the report for Self-Auditing: "/SCWM/RP_LICENCE_SELF_AUDIT" in Tnx: SE38 as shown below (Released by SAP from S/4HANA-2022 version):

In the next screen, you can enter the selection parameters for your warehouse functionalities usage and execute the transaction to display the compliance report.

Using this report you can review the compliance of the EWM functionality usage throughout the last 12 months, the number of delivery items per working day for warehouses in the system, and the total number of delivery items in a particular client or warehouse. A shown in the snapshot below, the functionality which is non-compliant is flagged as red.

So, are you still in the boat of guessing whether your embedded EWM in S/4HANA is compliant with your licences or not and don't want to incur retrospective penalties for using functionality unknowingly, contact us for detailed pre-analysis of each and every aspect of the functionality your thinking to implement.
